Ever since it was announced, one of the most curious matters about Steam Deck was the number of playable games. When we say playable though, it is not just a game that could “technically” work on the device but also provide a smooth and enjoyable experience which is on par with the usual PC equivalent.
Many major titles and more games are doing their best to join the growing list of Steam Deck as release date is coming near. There are different categories of compatibility for games, and tests are being performed by a dedicated team that play the games on Steam Deck to see if they can verify the game properly.
List is currently not announced via official means yet, but some Reddit users are releasing their own lists that include more than a hundred games fully verified. Those games may still have occasional issues of touchscreen support here and there, but should not be a serious problem overall. There are also some games on the list that is unsupported, though it is a smaller number.
Latest titles that are added to the list include Nier Replicant – which occasionally needs some text input – and Sam & Max Save The World, which is fully verified. Most of the unsupported games (there are five only) are VR games, one being Persona 4 Golden. A possible workaround is installing Windows on Steam Deck, if you are determined to make it happen. Length of the list will surely increase as time pass and more games are tested.
