Recently, there was a very serious outrage among Team Fortress 2 players against Valve and their attitude. The problem was excessive botting, cheating and harassment in the game that simply makes the whole game unplayable. There was no response from Valve so far, but this finally changed. This happened after people gathered under the campaign #SaveTF2 on social media platforms.
Official Team Fortress 2 Twitter account made a post and acknowledged the issue. The post says “TF2 community, we hear you! We love this game and know you do, too. We see how large this issue has become and are working to improve things”. Message may be vague, but it still sparked a joy among fans since their voices are heard. With that said, players will surely expect a good measure of changes and purging from the team in upcoming months.
The main reason for this much of excessive botting is probably the items that are sold with real money. It is totally a classic chain of events nowadays, as there will always be some abusive users who are only in for the money and do not care about anything else. But at some point, Valve is the first one who should “care” about the game. Players also seem to agree with it, and they are mostly pressing Valve under their latest tweet as they want to see a very solid step taken towards the solution.
