Finally we heard the release date for Witcher 3 next-gen update from CD Projekt Red, as it has been quite long after Cyberpunk 2077 required their immediate and full attention. The update is coming on 14th of December, 2022.
This update will bring a lot of enhancements in all aspects. Visuals, performance and technical enhancements are on the list. Game will receive ray tracing support, faster loading times especially for consoles, and some mods integrated. This update was supposed to be released a year ago.
Biggest reason in those delays were the change of developer, as Saber Interactive was responsible for this update at first. Later in April 2022, CD Projekt Red decided to bring the development in-house for completion.
This update will also include Netflix-inspired DLC items. If you do not own the game, you will have to purchase it as a standalone game on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. If you own the game on PC, Xbox One and PS4, you will receive a free update.
