Lately, Midnight Club fans are excited over a job listing for Visual Concept positions for an “unannounced open world driving game with a major license”. People think that this description is pointing at Midnight Club series, but Take-Two Interactive is not known to go for a racing game at this stage.
Previous games in the series are made by Rockstar Games, but they are now known to be busy with Grand Theft Auto 6. Still, there is a chance for Take-Two Interactive to assign this task to another studio they own.
Another possibility is that the new Midnight Club game may run on Unreal Engine, creating a higher quality experience. Also the job listings mention a high expectation for multiplayer experience too.
Therefore it still seems to be a longshot, but fans are preferring to stay hopeful for good news to come. We will see if it will happen.
