Diablo Immortal has been one of the games in history with wildest monetization strategies. Ever since it came out, people have been criticising game so harshly due to this, but it did not prevent the game from earning quite a good amount for Blizzard either. With that said, its latest update brings players a surprisingly generous feature. This update allows people to perform a character class swap every seven days for free, and there is not a limit for how many times you can do that.
Even better, Blizzard confirmed that they will not monetize this feature in any way. There will not be a way to purchase the ability to change more frequently. Once you swap your character class, you will be able to alter the appearance and reset the paragon tree of your character. On top of that, your character will be given a placeholder gear set with the equivalent rank of your pre-swap gear. Class-specific cosmetics and gear will obviously not carry over directly, but will stay in your inventory for future use. Social groups like clans and Warbands will not be affected.
If you wish to enjoy this feature, you will need to go to the Shifting Flames brazier in Westmarch. Only catch is that you need to be level 35 or higher to use this. As much as there is no denying the generosity in the feature itself, it is not very hard to imagine that people who find a favorite class they enjoy will stay longer and possibly spend more money in the endgame. But no other Diablo game allows this change, so this is a first time.
