Google has a very lovely habit of making great Doodles, and from time to time we are seeing some great games that suddenly catch us off-guard. This time we are seeing a new multiplayer Doodle that brings the “petanque” game.
In this game, you are throwing your ball to bring it as close as possible to the little ball called cochonnet. There are different controls for different platforms, but the goal is always the same. Your ball must stop at the closest point possible to the little one. Players win points by having more balls closer than their opponent has, and the one who has most points after three rounds wins.
Game has 1v1 and 2v2 modes for matchmaking. There are online matchmaking and tutorial modes too. You can check things out first before going to the real field, and get used to the controls. Some people prefer mouses and some prefer touchscreens. It all depends on your style and habits, so feel free to try as you like.
There were great multiplayer Doodles by Google back in previous years, like the one back in 2018 Halloween and another back in 2019 which celebrates Mexican card game called Loteria. But most gamers will remember that they also made Pac-Man back in 2010, and it was quite successful too.
