Diablo 2 Resurrected brought back a great legend to life again, and it has been getting better with recent updates from developers. New content and visuals, new balance changes, quality of life improvements and season system are some of the major factors that takes an old gem and refines it to make it enjoyable in today’s conditions.
This effort does not come without some issues of course, and latest one seems to be the unexpectedly extended season time for the first season. The reason which caused such a delay was explained to be the Terror Zones, as community manager PezRadar mentioned that the discussions around this idea took quite long. The progress to stabilize and implement this feature caused Season 1 to last longer than intended.
Diablo 2 Resurrected seasons were planned to last 4 months each, and the first season already past this time. With these delays, Season 2 also does not have a precise release date at the moment. Blizzard says that they are looking for solutions to mitigate this problem for at least upcoming seasons. They are looking forward to finish the PTR for patch 2.5 and start Season 2 a soon as possible to keep the timeline on track.
