Capcom released an update for Resident Evil Village recently, but the update seems to break the game for Steam users. Once the update is installed, it causes crashes.

Players are obviously frustrated with this problem. There are only a few people who has their automatic updates disabled and therefore avoided this problem, but rest of the community is totally unable to play the game now.

Capcom acknowledged the issue quickly and apologized for the problems caused by their latest patch. They are currently looking into the problems and working on a fix. Some players seem to have noticed that those crashes were connected to an update delivered with pre-orders of the Winters’ expansion. This is not entirely confirmed though, but you are free to try a refund and see if it works. Other than that, a fix or rollback by Capcom is required.
