Speedruns have a very distinct feature, which is simply “knowing no boundaries”. While there are different types of speedruns, each and every one of them are based on doing whatever it takes to finish the game in the shortest time possible without breaking the certain rules of the given speedrun.
Elden Ring is no exception, and it was a matter of fame and glory for players who are speedrunning the title as it is a souls-like game – meaning that it will be surely difficult to even complete it, let alone doing a speedrun. Record times of completion started at around two and a half hour mark, quickly coming down to an hour. Now we are already at around half an hour, as the player named Distortion2 already hit the record at 30:24.
It is now just a matter of time that we will see speedruns of Elden Ring below half an hour, and possibly people may attempt sub-20 runs in future once more bugs and glitches are learned.
