Elden Ring was absolutely a huge hit, and it would be very understandable if you thought that FromSoftware would take a couple years off after that much work. To your surprise, this is totally the opposite case of what came in as today’s news. Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed recently that they are actually working on a new game which is in its final stage of development.
This is mentioned by Miyazaki as an answer to a question regarding an old interview that took place back in 2018. Back then, he said there were “three and a half games” they were working on, and two of them were unannounced. Known ones were Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Deracine for that “half game”. One of the remaining games turned out to be Elden Ring, but last one is still a mystery. Now we are about to see that one too.
Miyazaki did not provide any clues about the game, but rumors are focusing on a new Armored Core game which could be massive. We will have to wait and see for the official confirmation though. Since he is already working on his next game, the future might bring a lot of surprises with Miyazaki’s signature under them.
