Netflix has been stepping up its efforts in the gaming industry lately, and now they are improving their cloud gaming service. A few job listings out there are seen as the possible proof of it.
As much as the search for a senior software engineer who specializes in rendering is not a very solid proof, it still gives us enough idea to see where it may be going. Its description also says that they are expanding their efforts on cloud gaming business and thus they are looking for people specialized on such work.
The recruitment requirements also list experience with Unity or Unreal engines besides the usual coding stuff, followed by experience in game development.
Netflix has been acquiring some game studios to get their own games up and running so they could become more competent among the long-time giants. Considering they already have countless members around the world, those games will already have an audience ready to jump in.
