Cyberpunk 2077 is getting ready to release Phantom Liberty expansion, and financial calls are now slowly referring to the upcoming steps for the game. Future plans are known to include Project Orion, the sequel for Cyberpunk 2077 so people are looking for any details to have a clue.

According to CFO Piotr Nielubowicz and CEO Adam Kicinski, Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will not even enter pre-production until 2024. In 2023, the team will be doing research and conceptual work to come up with a proper plan. This will be done by a smaller team than the one working on Phantom Liberty, as some of the developers will be joining the The Witcher 4 team to support its development.

Only after the conceptual work, the pre-production phase can start. This means that Project Orion is still in the very very early phase to become a full game, and we will probably have to wait until 2025 to see it with our own eyes.
