Silent Hill 2 Remake project has been ongoing in development phase since some time, and Bloober Team is working on it. While fans are happy to hear a legend coming back, some people were in doubt regarding the quality of work expected from developers. This was especially caused by the news that mention changes about fixed-camera perspective and rebuilding the combat.
Bloober Team recently confirmed that they will be staying true to the original game. This should mean that old fans of the series will not have any problems with the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Story will not change, but gameplay and graphics will be refreshed to make it much better in modern technology.
Bloober Team obviously knows that Silent Hill fans are quite picky when it comes to having their taste of psychological horror games. They are aware of the previous attempts of remasters falling short, and thus they are taking their time to make it as good as possible.
