Twitter has seen a very interesting hashtag in trends this week, as Sonic fans were totally disappointed with the latest game in development, Sonic Frontiers. There was a gameplay reveal video by Sega that showed the current state of the game, but even the most hyped fans were not satisfied. The hashtag #DelaySonicFrontiers received a heavy amount of support from plenty of Sonic fans, and it has been an example of how gamers could unite to make studios aware of “imminent failure”. As much as studios should not be “dictated” by just some social media trend, it is a great tool for players to raise their voice when people know what they want.
Besides the requests for delay, some fans also mentioned a demo could be very benefitable for everyone so people could provide feedback to Sega before it’s too late. On the other hand, some fans are claiming that the actual issue is the general approach to the game and fixing bugs or polishing the game will not make it any better.
