Vampire Survivors is continuing to surprise us all, it is really unbelieveable for an indie game to provide this much value. Having a price tag of $5 and recently announcing the first DLC for $2, developer poncle announced its surprise mobile release during The Game Awards. Best part of this release that it is totally free. It is just insane to see in an age where everything is considered an opportunity for monetization.
Only ads will appear when you need either an extra revive at death, or for some extra gold. This is absolutely reasonable and almost great if you are dying at 29th minute. Speaking of mobile, Vampire Survivors is pretty much easy to play on the phone since only thing you need to do is moving around. Game supports both portrait and landscape view options, and it makes a lot of difference depending on your build and playstyle.
Vampire Survivors continues on being a great example on many points when it comes to game development. This was a huge surprise and especially the “do you folks have phones” moment during the reveal caught us absolutely off-guard. Well played, poncle.
