Today we have some good news for the Lord of the Rings fans, as Weta Workshop who worked on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie trilogy is now coming back for a video game that takes place in the Middle Earth universe we all love.
The press release about this new game says that “Middle-earth Enterprises have licensed the literary works of the series, providing Weta Workshop with the broadest creative license to interpret the underlying lore of the books.”
Weta Workshop video game division is also joining forces with Private Division, publishing label for Take-Two Interactive on this game. Currently we are not seeing any release date given for the game, though expectations are gathering around the second half of 2023.
Speaking of Lord of the Rings, there are a lot of new materials coming up such as Amazon’s TV series, another game that tells a story about Gollum, and a free-to-play mobile game from Electronic Arts. Great time to be a Lord of the Rings fan.
