One of the exciting game reveals we have seen in 2022 is definitely Witchfire. Developers of the intense FPS game Bulletstorm are behind this new game. Polish studio called The Astronauts are founded by makers of Bulletstorm and Painkiller, which should tell you enough. But the game will apparently keep us waiting a little bit longer.

A delay has been announced for Witchfire, pushing the title to 2023. The reason for this delay is quite solid though. Developers changed the arena-style combat to open-world fighting. This is a huge decision of redesign. According to the developers, this feature is already 95% implemented.

Previously, Witchfire would work more like a linear game that takes player to different places in a strict order. Now we will be able to explore and play much more freely. The studio now calls Witchfire “semi-open world” with a few limitations here and there.

Witchfire will be an Epic Games Store exclusive during early access. At full release, it will be available for all platforms.
