In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, players are able to unlock cosmetics by using Spartan Points. They are earned by playing the game, but news in recent months mentioned that 343 Industries had plans to also make them accessible for purchase. The reason for this plan was justified as “allowing for an option to skip grind” for some people who do not like it, or for people who want to simply grab a couple specific items rather than go through an entire list of cosmetics.

The game indeed has a lot of cosmetic items, and grind might be truly tiring at some point. But if you were planning on buying some Spartan Points after those news, today we have some bad news for you. 343 Industries announced that their plans for making Spartan Points purchaseable is cancelled.

But it is not just bad news, since there was another recent announcement by 343 Industries that they decided to make Spartan Points easier to earn, as players will earn them at every level and it will be also retroactively added to all players’ accounts if they are already at higher or max level.

These plans will be ready to execute in November, so there is some more time to wait for those extra Spartan Points. Until then, you can at least plan your strategy towards new cosmetics.
