Nintendo announced its Nintendo Direct September 2022 showcase event for today, on September 13th, at 10AM ET. The event will focus on the upcoming Nintendo Switch games throughout the following winter season for 40 minutes.

Players are mostly waiting for further news about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There is known to be a sequel on the horizon, but it is currently not given a name officially. It was originally expected to be released in 2022, but the game was delayed to 2023 a few months ago. Nintendo has not provided much details about the game so far, so one of the big expectations about this Nintendo Direct event is definitely about this sequel.

A small reminder, as Nintendo will not livestream this event on its UK YouTube channel. Due to the national mourning period after Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. Instead, they will be publishing the event as a video-on-demand on their YouTube channel at 16.00 (UK Time).

Besides the Zelda sequel, there are rumors about some Zelda remasters and maybe a remastered Metroid Prime. It might be a very exciting event for Nintendo fans if these rumors come true.
