Earlier this month, the 4K revision of developer Remedy Entertainment’s legendary horror game Alan Wake was announced. Alan Wake Remastered will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC (Epic Games Store) on October 5, 2021.
The PC system requirements and graphics settings of the game have now emerged.
Minimum system requirements:
- Processor: Intel Core i5-3340 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD RX470 | 4GB VRAM
- RAM: 8GB or higher
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Recommended system requirements:
- Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD RX 5600XT | 6GB VRAM
- RAM: 16GB
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
It seems interesting that the recommended graphics card is the GTX 1060, as opposed to Alan Wake Remastered’s DLSS support, because as you know, the GTX 1060 does not support DLSS. This means that players who want to take advantage of DLSS should have an NVIDIA RTX series graphics card.
In addition, Alan Wake Remastered will also support ultra-wide displays (cinematic scenes will be scaled to 16:9 instead of 21:9) and the frame rate (FPS) will be unlocked.
The graphics options in the game are as follows:
Graphics settings
- Ambient occlusion – Yes – (HBAO+ Nvidia Ambient occlusion tech)
- Resolution – Enumerated resolutions
- V-Sync – On/Off
- V-Sync in console set to “on” and no option to turn it off
- HUD – Enabled/Disabled
- Brightness
- Motion blur – Enabled/Disabled
- Film grain – Enabled/Disabled
- FOV – Slider
Advanced graphics options
- Graphics quality – Low/Medium/High/Custom
- Render scale – Slider – Default to 100%
- Anisotropic filtering – Off, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x
- Shadow quality – Low/Medium/High
- Volumetric light quality – Low/Medium/High
- Terrain quality – Low/High
- Draw distance – Slider
Let us remind you that Alan Wake was not remade and only overhauled for graphic quality. Therefore, instead of a game with new mechanics, we will experience the original Alan Wake.
However, last month, it was revealed that a project was being worked on in partnership with developer Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games. This project, which some people believe is Alan Wake 2, is still in development and we have to wait a little longer.
