Dying Light 2 has been one of the strongest launches in early 2022, and it was indeed a well-deserved one. As much as there were some issues throughout the game, Techland actually delivered what they promised especially on the story and narration side. Even the huge delays could not prevent the game from being a remarkable hit.

Yesterday, Techland sent out a press release to GamesRadar and confirmed that Dying Light 2 sold more than 5 million copies around three weeks mark. The numbers also continued to grow in time, and made the game a great success. If you want to have a clearer comparison, original Dying Light reached 5 million copies threshold around seven months after the release.

Fast forward to this day and the original Dying Light actually sold around 20 million copies, which is also a very solid number. This means that the franchise sold over 25 million copies worldwide, across all platforms.

Techland is planning to reveal a new and big content patch around next week. They said that this will introduce “a lot of opportunities for all players”. The long-awaited New Game Plus mode is also set to arrive, but not known when.
