In recent news, it was mentioned that Bayonetta 3 voice actor Hellena Taylor was replaced with Jennifer Hale. Though this looks like a simple and plain decision on its own, but a video by Hellena Taylor yesterday tells quite a different story.
According to Taylor, developer Platinum offered her an immorally low amount of compensation for her efforts in Bayonetta 3 voice acting. The mentioned amount was a flat sum of $4000, and she refused the offer as it was too low for her veteran status in voice acting. Taylor says that Platinum insisted on this lowball offer and did not show any understanding. She stated that this offer was “insulting”, and now calls fans for boycotting the game and donating the same amount of money as the game’s price to a charity instead.
On the other hand, the director Hideki Kamiya posted a tweet that says “Sad and deplorable about the attitude of untruth. That’s what all I can tell now”. Time will tell what happens next after this point.
