Long-awaited livestream of Genshin Impact 2.5 update has finally happened and answered many questions for the fans. It was of course not possible for everyone to watch it entirely, so here we come with a recap of details crucial to know.
There were a lot of new stuff presented during the livestream, even a short sneak peek of upcoming 2.6 update was there.
New story and characters
First thing first, we are having a new story and characters with 2.5 update. As you have seen in the trailer, we are going back to Ekonomiya. This zone was actually added in previous update and now we will see the story unfold in this area during 2.5 patch. This new area comes with some new enemies too, called “Shadow Husks”. They are equipped with some elemental damage so beware.
In the meanwhile, new character is called Yae Miko. A four-star electro catalyst user, Yae Miko deals serious damage by dropping electro traps behind her as she moves, which can later be erupted for extra damage. This character will be available as part of the Everbloom Violet event wish which is coming in the first half of the major update. There is also a new catalyst weapon for Yae Miko, called Kagura Verity. For now, there is no information about how to obtain it.
A new boss fight appeared in the livestream, that looks like the Raiden Shogun, but just not entirely the same. Some moves are pretty much resembling, but more is yet to be seen. Speaking of Raiden, Raiden will be obtainable by players through a re-run event banner alongside Sangonomiya during the second half of the version 2.5 update.
New and returning events
Many events are coming back with this 2.5 update and first one is the Three Realms Gateway Offering. This event, as some of you may remember, places a corrosive darkness across the region. Players will be able to earn exclusive awards during this event.
Next one is called Devine Ingenuity, and it’s a unique twist on the usual domain events we’ve seen before. During this event, players can create their own domains to challenge. All you need to do is to create and share it, while other players can enjoy your domain and earn rewards.
Another one will be Of Drink A-Dreaming, a non-alcoholic bar mini-game. You can create custom cocktails for others according to their requests.
Last but not least, we have two combat trails Hyakunin Ikki and Overflowing Master events returning during 2.5 update.
New zone for 2.6 update – Chasm
There was a serious amount of speculation out there regarding the next new zone, and now we have it confirmed. Chasm will be meeting players during 2.6 update.
