Josh Sawyer, the director behind Fallout New Vegas, said that he is actually open to the idea of working on the series again in the future. During an interview about the development process, he described the period as “a crazy development because it was only 18 months, but also super fulfilling and super fantastic”.
While he admitted that he is open to the idea, there is nothing clear for now according to his words. When asked about a possible dream setting for a new entry in the series, he said that it has been some long time since those years and he does not think of such things anymore, but back in the day he actually thought of California or the Midwest.
Fallout series brings the extra problem of staying in line with the vision of series, but a project like the recent game of his, Pentiment, is totally free to do its own thing without asking any questions. Sawyer says that this freedom actually matters to him. In the end though, speaking of Fallout and a potential new entry, Sawyer concluded his words by saying that it totally depends on the time and team working on it.
