Recent announcement from Beenox confirmed that there are some problems with the latest Nvidia drivers if you are playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. They are recommending that players should stay a couple steps back when it comes to updating the drivers.
The driver number 526.47 is the one responsible for game crashes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Beenox is suggesting to keep the 516.59 or 522.25 drivers. Later, Nvidia also confirmed this problem and mentioned that this was the reason for their latest driver not being promoted or recommended for this game specifically.
In normal cases, updating drivers is the first logical step to solve most problems but this one is unfortunately making it only worse. Nvidia is currently working on a hotfix, so even if your slightly outdated driver is not perfect, you might want to stay with it for a while.
