One day before its planned reveal, the new Need For Speed game is leaked. The game will be called Need For Speed Unbound, and the leaked visual materials look like the game will be focusing on “stylish” street art. While the initial reaction of many players was like “this looks too anime”, eventually a good number of fans both admitted that the visuals look “too anime” but also it has a nice style of its own.
The leak was on Reddit, and materials were found on Electronic Arts’ website for a brief period. Game’s page in Japanese site Neowing (removed already) had a description for the game that says “Beat the clock, outsmart the cops, and compete in weekly qualifiers for Lakeshore’s ultimate street racing challenge: The Grand. Fill your garage with precision-tuned custom machines, put on your own style and exclusive looks, and light up the streets with a soundtrack that resonates from every corner of the world.” So they really mean that Need For Speed Unbound will massively focus on custom-tuned cars.
Multiplayer will have a great part in this game, as Need For Speed Unbound encourages players to both build and share their custom-tuned machines with other players all around the world. With the new graffiti look and street art, it might really catch players who love this type of content rather than having a realistic driving simulator.
A Need For Speed game is definitely not complete without an adrenaline-pumping soundtrack, and Electronic Arts seems to have got us covered there too. Artists like A$AP Rocky and AWGE will be on the list besides the French DJ Brodinski will contribute with some original music produced for the game.
Need For Speed Unbound is developed by Criterion and Codemasters, two huge names when it comes to racing games. This visual style is no surprise, but then players will also want to have a greatly satisfying racing gameplay too. There will be a reveal today, 6th of October 11AM ET, on the official Need For Speed YouTube channel. Expected release date for the game is 2nd of December.
