Blizzard faced a very rough launch period for Overwatch 2 due to a bunch of issues that included DDoS attacks, phone number verification process and more. They had to take the servers down on Thursday twice, and now they announced a third one.

Blizzard announced that they will need some offline time to fix some of the major issues. These include Watchpoint Packs not appearing as available for players who placed a pre-order, and the LC-208 error that prevents log-in for many players.

In recent news, Blizzard decided to allow existing Overwatch 1 players to bypass the phone number verification process in order to relieve the registration issues at least partly. Developers mentioned that the initial fixes were effective enough to quickly increase the capacity of servers and reduce the queues overnight. While they will keep monitoring the situation, weekend time will obviously be the ultimate test for them.
