Square Enix warns players against hackers

Square Enix warned its players that some hackers are trying to access the account management system that is used in Final Fantasy 14. 2022 had some serious amounts of hacking incidents that caused leaks of customer data, so Square Enix seems to take measures before things get out of control. As a result of this warning, the company is urging players to change their passwords as soon as possible.

According to the statement made by Square Enix, the hackers are trying to gain unauthorized access by using some email addresses and passwords which are obtained from other online services of other companies. In case the users are using the same credentials combination for other services as the one for Square Enix services, it is vital that they should change the password as soon as possible.

Company is currently working around the clock to mitigate the attacks, and locking out the accounts they consider as compromised. Players who have their accounts locked are receiving e-mails from Square Enix with instructions to how to reset their password and gain access again.
