The Last of Us Part 1 remake has been causing a lot of hype ever since it was announced, and now shipments are finally being delivered. The most expensive edition and exclusive for US only, entire batches of Firefly Edition were literally devoured by users in under an hour after the pre-orders are announced.
Shipments for this special edition are now arriving to their owners, but some of them are claiming damaged deliveries due to lack of protection during the process. The edition includes in-game bonuses, a limited edition SteelBook case, and The Last of Us: American Dreams comics #1 – #4 with a new cover art. All of these are contained in a cardboard case so it would require some extra protection during the delivery, which was not there.
According to users, they are all disappointed and this disappointment was multiplied when they heard the response from PlayStation Direct customer support as they said that there is not an option for replacement. Most they offered was a 20% voucher on a future game order. Sony has not made any comments on the matter yet, but guesses are around insufficient stocks for replacement.
Now some of the special edition products are being sold on Ebay for up to six times the original price.
