The Mortuary Assistant suddenly became the new horror hype among a lot of players, and Twitch viewerships were also quite strong. It has only been around a month since the game came out, but it may be already getting its own movie adaptation.
DreadXP, publisher of the game, and Epic Pictures Group allegedly decided to adapt this game way before its actual release, and the movie was thought as a “companion piece” to the game.
According to DreadXP, it would be difficult to reflect certain mechanics in film though. When they adapt the game to the film, they want to keep the minimalist setting in the mortuary and focus on the embalming process. And of course, the terrorizing atmosphere of the gameplay.
The Mortuary Assistant has five different endings while scaring the players with tons of different things on the way. The adaptation will allegedly take a slightly different route that focuses on the narrative and the creepy atmosphere while bringing all stories into just one big piece.
