When it comes to speedruns, Super Mario Bros. is one of the most prestigious titles as almost all gamers around the world had experienced this timeless classic at least once. In recent years, the 5-minute threshold was broken and people were already scaling the competition down into frames.

After decades of the game’s release, we have our third speedrunner, Nebula_Composer, who managed to finish the game under 4:55 barrier.

Actual time of this run is 4:54:948, but do not let the very small difference between the record time and 4:55 barrier deceive you. This is incredibly difficult to manage and these people are literally counting frames. Only loss he suffered during the run was 4 frames where he entered the water section in World 8-4, caused by fast accel inputs by Nebula. He still managed to keep it going and hit a record time.

Nebula says he intends to go for the 4 frames he lost, and he is aiming to hit a 4:54:8XX or WR in the future.
