TennoCon by Digital Extremes revealed a lot about their major title Warframe, and what can we expect in future about their new game called Soulframe. Warframe will have some new content called Duviri Paradox, and they are diving into time loops with this new expansion that is revealed in TennoCon 2022. But Soulframe was the biggest surprise.
Soulframe will be a free-to-play action hybrid MMORPG according to what Digital Extremes says, and it will have a fantasy theme. Gameplay mechanics will not be extremely different compared to Warframe, but obviously the theme will be taking on a whole new taste. In the cinematic trailer, we are seeing a stag in ritualistic ornaments, a friendly bird, a huge wolf, giving it a whole different energy compared to mechs we had in Warframe.
Trailer looks like we will be diving into the conflict between humans and nature. Developers are also confirming this, as they said that the inspiration comes from their childhood favorites among fantasy worlds.
Currently there is not a release date, but Digital Extremes mentioned that the process will be transparent and collaborative for everyone. In the meanwhile, you can check the details in the game’s website.
