Geneshift was a GTA2-inspired game that allowed players to enjoy a whole lot of mayhem. During the early access period, developer Ben Johnson improved the game up to new heights and now the game will both change its name and embrace free to play model.
Now the game will be called Gene Shift Auto. As Ben Johnson mentions, back during first days of the game there were no cops, missions, megamap, skill drafting, vendors or the Battle Royale mode. A few years ago, the game actually came to life under the name Subvein with a demo. Later, Johnson pushed it for approval on Steam Greenlight program with the name Mutant Factions. The evolution from single-player arcade game to a battle royale was absolutely huge.
In case you want to see the story campaign, you will need Deluxe Edition DLC. This edition will stay available for sale after game goes free-to-play on 28th of November.
