The platform fighter game MultiVersus is still in testing phase and players are also allowed to join this test to both enjoy the initial state of the game and provide feedback to developers. But during those periods, developers mentioned that there would be progression resets which caused players to lose all their progress in each reset.
For those who would like to keep their progression, good news came with yesterday’s open beta release. Now everyone will be able to keep their progress forever with no resets happening again. Warner Bros. social and community director Nikki Grantham explained how progression will work from now on. Grantham said “If you played during the Early Access period, all of your progression to ALL of the characters you played during 7/19 – 7/25 is saved”.
Additionally, there will be a new character rotation system for the game. Every two weeks, players will enjoy a small number of characters for free. This way, they can have some idea about which character to unlock next. Progression acquired with free characters will also be saved, and you will be able to continue your progress when you permanently unlock it. MultiVersus seems to be on a good path, and hopefully it will only get better from here on.
