MultiVersus came up with a great hype and caught a lot of players immediately during early access. After the full release and first seasons, most players who just wanted to try the game have already quit and remaining players are now having some new thoughts. One of those thoughts include the question “is the game dead?”.
The hype in early access phase left its place to a relative silence during Season 2, so it is not surprising for players to ask the question. A poll on Reddit simply asks the users their thoughts about the current state of the game, saying “is the game dead, dying or still alive?”. Half of the voters out of 3700 people who participated thinks that the game is dying, but there are also around 1200 people who thinks the game is still alive. There are around 600 people who think that the game is dead.
Players agree on the simple fact that MultiVersus needs more content updates. After breaking huge records right off the bat like many “hyped” games, MultiVersus also followed the same path of fading once the hype is off.
