During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, we have seen the surprise of Hideo Kojima confirming his partnership with Xbox in a first-person appearance where he mentioned that they will make a unique game using cloud technology in all possible ways.
This announcement was indeed a great surprise for a lot of people, but some Kojima fans are actually feeling very sad and angry about it. There is already a petition on Change.org that goes under the name “cancel Kojima Xbox exclusive game”.
The reason for this petition is that, as mentioned in the description, “Not everyone has good enough internet to stream games. Not everyone has enough money to buy a new console or build a new PC.”
While the statement seems reasonable on its own, turning it into an accusation of “betrayal” sounds like overreacting. Because petition also says that “Kojima is betraying his loyal fans, he’s been blinded by greed.” Kojima has not fully left Sony behind though, so it may be better to wait and see what surprises may be ahead.
