Recently, the news about The Callisto Protocol developers planning to release some extra death animations as paid DLC came up and people were surprised in a negative way. The speculations also produced some claims that Striking Distance Studios were actually holding the content back despite it is ready to be included in the base game.
Glen Schofield, creator and director of the game, took notice of those claims and made it clear that it is not the case. Schofield said that it is actually future plans and not “ready to release” content, as fans wanted some more death animations and they want to deliver. They will be working on these new animations and more once the game is released.
Considering that The Callisto Protocol emphasized the gore and brutality in the game as a marketing move, it is not really surprising that fans wanted more of it. It initially sounded like a bad move as people thought the developers were holding back some content to monetize it in a greedy way, but it turns out to not be the case.
