The Outer Worlds was the next big step for Obsidian Entertainment after Fallout New Vegas. Private Division published the game back in 2019 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One while Switch version followed in June 2020.

With the recent findings, a new edition of The Outer Worlds, called the “Spacer’s Choice Edition”, is coming for current-gen consoles. Game already has two expansions called Peril On Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos. It is not known if the expansions will be included in Spacer’s Choice Edition, but it is highly expected.

Microsoft acquired Obsidian Entertainment a while ago, and said that they were hoping to build The Outer Worlds into an “enduring franchise”. Back in June 2021, Obsidian announced The Outer Worlds 2 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Other projects from Obsidian include Pentiment by the director of Fallout New Vegas, and a first-person RPG called Awowed which takes place in Eora, the world for Pillars of Eternity.
