Rainbow Six: Siege has become one of the biggest esports titles all around the globe, and now mobile gamers will be able to enjoy this massive game too. Ubisoft recently announced that they are developing the Rainbow Six Mobile, and it will not be actually scaled down from the original version. Instead they are building the game from scratch in order to provide the best experience possible on mobile platforms while keeping it as close as possible to original Rainbow Six: Siege.
Game will stay the same, as players will split into two teams called Attackers and Defenders. They will be contesting for the map dominance and objective using various Operators and equipment.
Here is the announcement text from the developer below.
“While the core gameplay, characters, and maps may share similarities with Siege, we’ve rebuilt everything from the ground up with mobile usability in mind. We have put a lot of work under the hood to adapt the Siege experience for mobile devices. This includes an entirely new gameplay control system developed specifically for mobile and extensive optimization of the UI and in-game visual presentation.”
Game will be free-to-play, and it will have its own updates and content to become rather unique. General design of format is based on the idea of playing the game in short bursts. So far, the following Operators have been confirmed for Rainbow Six Mobile:
- Twitch
- Ash
- Hibana
- Sledge
- Valkyrie
- Mute
- Thermite
- Caveira
- Smoke
- Bandit
Last but not least, current maps in the pool are Bank and Border. More maps will be coming in as the development progresses.
