Games that let you drive a tank and enter combat with it are not very scarce nowadays, and there are actually some great examples of it. It is a pretty solid niche, and fans of such warfare environments can be quite dedicated followers. But some of those games prefer to keep it closer to arcade mode while others might want to stick close to the taste of simulation. Today, we have another new contestant in the scene.
Gunner, HEAT, PC!, or abbreviated as GHPC is taking a shot at the Cold War period to bring tank lovers a new taste. The game promises to bring a more realistic taste of battlegrounds where most famous kinds of tanks are fighting. Up to this point, it is all expected.
More specific details come into play as Gunner, Heat, PC! decide to bring us a more realistic and simulator-like experience. There will be campaigns, skirmishes and co-op multiplayer mode. Players will have tanks and APCs while AI will have their own separate forces to impact the game.
According to the developers, games with tanks that shoot straight with no realism are not really that popular anymore. Now the tank nerds are asking to have a higher degree of realism with focus on physics, real tank structure, weakspots and tactical thinking. A tank can also be combat-ineffective when the crew dies, the vehicle is drenched in flames or the control mechanism is blown off too.
GHPC is currently in Steam Early Access period, so feel free to give it a try if you love blasting off some turrets up to the sky.
