With Steam Deck users all over the world are increasing in numbers, it was a matter of time that people would need some fast and reliable maintenance and repair network from Valve. They knew it, and now we have some official Steam Deck repair centers for our new handheld devices.
As long as the required repairs are covered by Valve’s warranty, it will be free. Understandably, anything that falls out of the warranty limits will cost you some money. In case you do not want to pay for repair, you can still decline the repair and request your device to be sent back.
Valve is not against users repairing their own Steam Deck either, and they are already teaming up with iFixit to sell almost all parts of the Steam Deck so people can buy them and do their own work. If you do not feel very good about opening the device and tampering with it though, repair centers will be there to help you out.
