Valve came up with the news that they provided the driver for audio if you want to install Windows on the gaming portable. While the dual-boot feature is still not there, steps are obviously being taken one by one. Previously, you would have had to pair Bluetooth headphones or plug in USB-C earbuds or a dongle to get any kind of audio on Windows at all. Both the speakers and 3.5mm jack did nothing on Windows before today, and it blamed AMD for the delay.

If this news give you the idea of installing Windows on your Steam Deck though, it may not still be a great idea yet. The support and drivers are still not fully smooth, and Valve also mentioned earlier that if you wish to install Windows on a Steam Deck, you will need to do so at your own risk. It would be much better if an average user would wait for dual-boot support before attempting it.
